Though we are quite small, our South Bay community is big!
Below you will find information to fitness groups, running groups, and climbing groups that we encourage you to support!
Garlic City Ruckers
Garlic City Ruckers is a fitness club in Gilroy, CA, organized by Miriam and Junior Fregoso. They focus on functional fitness training and aim to improve their own and their community's well-being through fitness by hosting free workouts out of their garage, and surrounding neighborhood parks.
Running Riot
Running Riot is a running club based out of Santa Cruz, CA. They were formed in 2019 by three long-time friends from the local punk rock scene who began to see each other every year at the annual Wharf to Wharf race. The goal of the group is to assemble a team of positive-thinking runners who pushed each other to new heights through encouragement and support.
MILC Climbing Project
Climbing group based out of South San José, created and led by Cole Kakimoto. MILC was created out of necessity. A creative outlet for those involved in its formation and an inlet for the individuals who feel held back by the financial fences built around climbing. The purpose of MILC is to open that gate and allow climbing to be accessible to all who want to be a part of this community. That’s why 100% of our profits belong to the people. The money we generate from product sales is used to purchase passes to local climbing gyms, host outdoor climbing courses, buy shoes, chalk bags, crash pads, or any other climbing essentials that one might need to get on the wall.
Secret Ninja Training Camp
SNTC are a fitness group based out of Watsonville, CA. Their forte is obstacle course training, but they also host regular trail runs. Anyone is welcome to join them! They post their weekly calendar on their Instagram.
